I took my first yoga class in 1998 in the Chicago area while I was still in high school. I loved the way that it helped me feel calm and present, yet alive and focused in my own brain and body. After taking several classes and workshops in Chicago, New Orleans, and Costa Rica, I completed my 200-hour teacher training at the Teton Yoga Shala in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the fall of 2011. Continuing to incorporate yoga into my professional life and linking my early childhood experience with my yoga world, I completed the Blooma Yoga prenatal instructor certification in January 2017. I offer classes specializing in prenatal yoga and wellness for Village Wellness GR. I also knew I wanted to further the connection between education, service, and yoga and then completed the Street Yoga trauma-informed certification program for working with youth and adolescents. I rounded all of that out with additional training from Yoga Ed, a program specifically geared toward educators who want to incorporate yoga and mindfulness in educational settings. I am confident my yoga classes and training can meet all educators' needs.
With continued professional development, my journey and passion for yoga continues to grow stronger.
It is truly important to me that yoga and mindfulness work are accessible to all.
"Anybody can breathe. Therefore anybody can practice yoga."
